Hussain Sajwani: Entreprenurial Genius and Philanthropist

Hussain Sajwani started his working life out at an extremely young age when he worked with his father in a watch and pen store in creek-side Deira district. It was then that he learned about many of the issues that a businessman might face in life. Watching his father work so hard and witnessing the rough and tumble of running a small business inspired Hussain to want to go to business on his own eventually. He decided not to go into a small business but rather become an entrepreneur who would take on some of the larger challenges of the business world.

After graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle with a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and economics, Hussain Sajwani decided to establish an investment company, DICO Invest, which still to this day holds investment portfolios of securities in different companies traded on various global markets. By making strategic investments in insurance, Hussain was able to put together Al Jazeira Services Co SAOG, which is a company listed on the Muscat Securities Market and worth over $125 million. From there Hussain went on to build DAMAC, which is a luxury real estate developer providing unrivaled living experiences in Dubai, UAE. DAMAC has grown to be one of the top luxury developers with business dealings all of the way from the United Kingdom to the Middle East.
